Piazza Duomo
STARTING POINT FOR VISITING THE HISTORICAL CENTRE OF TRENTO

The first stop in Trento is undoubtedly Piazza Duomo: the hub of the city and the starting point for exploring the historic centre and admiring the frescoes decorating the Renaissance palaces. The route through the centre is called 'el giro al Sass' by the locals.

This expression, known by all residents of Trento, indicates the classic route along the streets of the centre that form a quadrilateral between palaces and central squares. It is the typical Saturday afternoon walk, when commitments are temporarily suspended and one abandons the frenzy of appointments to walk leisurely, looking in shop windows, doing some shopping and greeting friends met by chance.
